Lindsey Welp
Dr. Lindsey Welp is a saxophonist and music educator based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her playing has been described as “mesmerizing…(taking) the saxophone to levels our audience rarely sees”. Lindsey is a passionate advocate for community-centered artistry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accessibility in music education.
Lindsey is an active performer and commissioner of new music. Her 2025 debut album, Stories We Tell, consists of new works that explore the intersection of storytelling and classical saxophone. Lindsey is the tenor saxophonist and founding member of Mixed Media, gold medalists of the 2022 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and fierce advocates for the performance and curation of new works for the saxophone quartet medium. Lindsey is also a member of the Atlanta Contemporary Music Collective, serving as both their saxophonist and Director of Development.
As an educator, Lindsey serves as the Adjunct Instructor of Saxophone at both Piedmont University and Middle Georgia State University. With more than a decade of private teaching experience, she also maintains an active independent studio, “The Sax Shed”, out of a renovated garden shed in her backyard.
